Some Medical Information You Might Be Interested In

I was reading an article recently where they stated that in 1998, The Journal of the American Medical Association published a study finding that every year, more than two million Americans become ill and 106,000 die from the toxic effects of "correctly" prescribed pharmaceutical drugs.  This study only looked at pharmaceutical drugs "properly" prescribed by doctors and "properly" taken by patients.  This study was not suggesting that people stop taking the drugs prescribed by their doctors, but instead, that the medical system should have better checks and balances in place to protect patients.  That's the thing with pharmaceutical drugs taken for long term, chronic health conditions. This information was in 1998, I wonder what the statistics are now? Why did they start advertising drugs on T.V. and why are they telling all the side effects?  Who would want to take a chance at using them but people do because they need help, they are sick, and they don't know what else to do or if there are other alternatives.

That is the information I thought you might find interesting.  This is my opinion on the subject for whatever it's worth to you.  When I was in my late twenties and early thirties, for at least eight to ten years I had symptoms with my heart.  I went to the doctor many times and many tests were run and they could never find out what was wrong. At my last doctor visit, he told me he didn't know what was causing my problem.  At that time, I had started learning about negative emotions causing physical problems. I'm a little gun shy in even mentioning this because I've seen people get fitting mad over that statement.   I came to the conclusion, that had to be my problem.  Physically nothing could be found.  I did a lot of soul searching and righted every wrong I could think of and then I felt impressed to go to the library and check out books on the heart and nutrition.  That's how it all started for me.  That's when I learned that the food we eat can heal our body or kill us.

It's my belief that we are spirit, mind, and body and all three of these are involved in total health. I wanted to recommend some books that I have found very interesting.  It's hard to believe its been 20 years ago but this was the first man that I knew of  who applied this principle from a Christian perspective.  The book is called "A More Excellent Way" A Teaching on the Spiritual Roots of Disease by Henry Wright. Really a good book.  About 10 years ago I read a book by Dodie Osteen, called Healed of Cancer, she is Joel Osteen's mother.  It is a small paperback book, it is her testimony of what happened to her. It is an excellent story.  She was sent home with 2 weeks to live.  She had terminal liver cancer and the doctors could do nothing.  The last book I want to recommend is You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay and this is another story of a cancer diagnosis and how she went about healing her life.

It hurts me to see people dying of disease way before their time or even dying of disease.  I'm one of those people who believes you can die healthy and that there is not a disease that can't be healed.  I do understand that a lot of people are satisfied with their treatment and I honor that but if your not, I just wanted you to know there is another way.  There are lots of alternative treatments and people who can help you sort through your emotional issues to help bring healing and wholeness to your body.

Remember......Your life is a garden and you are the gardener.
